FINE ART

Artist's Statement

Weaving together a variety of mediums, from acrylic on wood to digital text, I aim to cultivate theological, spiritual, and sociological conversation in my artwork. Through the use of natural and sometimes surreal imagery, my body of work explores the intricate, feminine relationship between the natural world and spiritual experience. I am captivated by how the natural world mirrors the Divine and the many ways we connect with the Creator. Each bloom and falling leaf tells a story of human life, revealing the endless cycle of life, death, and resurrection.

Theology, religion, dance, music — even scripture — are all forms of art in which we as humans attempt to explain our transcendent experience with the Sacred. It is through creative engagement that I find freedom; in myself, with others, and with God. My eyes continue to open to the heartbeat of humanity when I consent to the spirit of God, and allow Her to show me the realities of my community.

With each brushstroke and composition, I seek to honor the interconnectedness of all living things and the sacredness of each moment. Crafted by organic and natural materials, I invite others to contemplate life’s beauty and fragility. Through earthy elements, I seek to tend to the exploration of Creation through the eyes of the wild and untamed beauty of the feminine spirit.
